Sufjan Stevens brought Optical Animal on board to design a new album-spanning show for the final leg of his 'Carrie and Lowell' world tour. We developed original content for the show, combining new animations with live camera feeds and Sufjan’s childhood home videos, as well as incorporating existing content from Sufjan's incredible team of artists and collaborators over the past several years.
OA also engineered and integrated a series of multiple Kinect motion sensors on stage to capture the movements of the performers, that were then translated into colorful, kinetic layers mixed into the content on screen.
